LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completing the CME activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Discuss the types of cancer, other than cervical cancer, that have strong associations with HPV DNA, and explain the characteristics and factors exposing these associations
  • Describe the underlying mechanisms and discuss clinical data looking at the safety and efficacy of HPV vaccination
  • Review available data regarding HPV vaccination, highlighting adult patients and current guidelines for this patient population
  • Improve provider knowledge of current HPV vaccine schedule recommendations, and discuss optimal methods of communication for patients inquiring about HPV vaccine

TARGET AUDIENCE

This educational activity is designed to meet the educational needs of primary care doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients aged 19 or older who are eligible for HPV vaccination.
