• Review new and emerging pharmacologic therapies for DR and emerging clinical trial data concerning their comparative efficacy to make evidence-based treatment decisions and individualize therapy based on patient characteristics and comorbidities
• Describe evidence-based strategies for the treatment of patients who do not respond to initial anti-VEGF therapy for diabetic macular edema.
• Discuss the role of angiogenesis and inflammation in the pathogenesis of diabetic eye disease
